The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Standing Delegation in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly sent the letters of condolence to PACE President Llius Maris de Puig and John Prescott, leader of the United Kingdom Delegation in the PACE, over the death of Lord Russell-Johnston, former President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The letters read as follows: "Death of a great Scotsman and European, a talented, intelligent and energetic politician, defender of democratic ideals and human rights is a terrible loss for his family, colleagues and compatriots".
